In: Personal| UP Life

If you are on the lookout if you have passed the University of the Philippines College Admission Test (UPCAT) then the results are now out in the UP Office of Admissions!

UPCAT Results online are now posted in the UPCAT 2009 Results website.

If you still don’t know the results of the UPCAT, you can text me at 09062052805 and I can look it out for you! Or just drop a message at the form below :)

If you want to look for your name through a search engine, click here.

If you are marked as PENDING CASE, as I was before, then don’t fret! You may just have lacked some of the requirements or you have deficiencies on the forms you submitted. :) Just ask the Office of Admissions and comply to what the requirements they need – and you’re good to go!

If you are an UPCAT passer with DPWS or Degree Program with Available Slots, then that means you were not able to get through to the courses of your choice. If you want an advice on which course to take, feel free to message below and I will answer your questions as best as I can!

Here are some tidbits:

If you are a DOST Scholar and you didn’t pass in any of your course choices, try any of the following courses: BS Materials Engineering, BS Mechanical Engineering, BS Mining Engineering, BS Geodetic Engineering, BS Metallurgical Engineering.

If you want to shift to Chemical Engineering and you weren’t able to pass the quota, try BS Materials Engineering, BS Mining Engineering or BS Chemistry.

If you want to shift to Civil Engineering, try to get in to BS Mechanical Engineering or BS Geodetic Engineering.

what's the distinction b/w waitlisted and DPWS? I have been told that DPWS is better, but I'm not clear about how the two differ from one another..

Ganito:

DPWS (Degree Program with Available Slots)

May apat kang choices 'di ba?

Actually, pwede kang DPWS and Waitlisted at the same time.
Pwede kasing since walang nai-grant sa iyo na course pero dahil may iba pang course na pwedeng pasukan, ay DPWS ka. Pero pwede rin kasing malapit ka na sa quota kaya Waitlisted ka at a particular course. :)

HJope this answers your question :)

aah, i see^^ thanks :) so it's okay lng pla na DPWS aq sa diliman. hmmm. about shifting… ano po magandang kunin if ever magshshift sa BS BAA? or……….. ano pong magandang pre-law na possibleng magkaroon ng ilang slots / program na konti lng nag eenrol?

Yup.

Well, technically, kahit ano naman pwede sa pre-law pero ang advice ko is to take up either BA English Studies, BA European Languages if you are really good in the arts pero highly-recommended ang BS Psychology or BA Psychology.

In the case of BAA. BS BA or any other course. :)

Well, technically, any course ay pwedeng pre-law.

I suggest taking up either BA English Studies or BA Psychology or BS Psychology if you're planning to take up law.

If you want to shift to BAA, then try BS BA or any course will do. :)

Hello Stephanie!

-bs accountancy
-bs civil engineering..

tnx 4 viewing my blog. :]

inghinyero Reply:

That is probably why! Both courses, ay maraming nag-aapply tapos may certain quota lang.

Kung gusto mo mag BAA – take up BA Psych or BS CE.
Kung gusto mo mag CE – take up GE or ME.

Punta ka sa Office of Admissions tapos magpa-waitlist ka in any of these courses.

stephanie Reply:

ah. kya p la. tnx s info.

if ever i'll be accepted in BS CE, pwedi magshift ng corse? to BS Accountancy?

inghinyero Reply:

Kaya ka DPWS kasi hindi ka nila ma-accept sa CE, unless specified na [ Degree Program with Available Slots Waitlisted: BS Civil Engineering ]
Kaya you have to take another course which I suggest is BA Psychology para maka-shift ka sa BAA. Pero mag-Math 17 ka na agad ah :)

OMG, pareho po kami xD haha. BS BAA-1st choice ; BS CE-2nd choice (campus: dililman-1st choice; status: dpws)

Oh, btw, sino po ba ang pinaprioritize? waitlisted or yung dpws po?

inghinyero Reply:

I actually don't know pero tingin ko it depends kung sino 'yung maunang ma-process at depende rin sa grades mo kung pasok ka dun sa program. There are some courses kasi na kailangan halimbawa na 90 ka sa Math or 90 ka sa English para doon ka ilagay.
