Last Days of 2009

Friday, January 8th, 2010

Wow, that was one hell of a week. I kinda missed out on the new year spirit. Looks like I was not able to do a year-end post nor a new year’s resolution entry. Well, if you’re going to ask what I have been doing lately, I’ll try to fill you in.

Here are some of the happenings from December 14 up to January 2. Haha. Wow, that really is a long time.

Engineering Week

That was one hectic week for the Engineering students. Well, we had a share of fun and competitive challenges! The Melchor Hall (UP Diliman College of Engineering building) was filled with organization wars, cheering organization members and lots of elementary parlor games in one whole week.

The night events were fun. I attended the Engineering Smoker to show support for good friends Jason and Jerome, who were the heads of the event. I was also able to attend the Maskipaps and that friggin’ fall from one of the UP Cursor models was frightening to see! Also, I attended Indakan. What a night! It was really surprising. It would have been UP KEM’s 10th year – and they deserved it. F*ck! What happened was really dismaying.

On the last day, me and my orgmates met at our tambayan for the org booster. We pumped air to our balloons and raise them high – with the cheer “Go Pisme!” ala “Go Uste!” – in Engineering, each organization has a battlecry and a cheer.

Noynoy Aquino Decides to Run for 2010 Presidency Race

Tuesday, September 8th, 2009

He has broken his silence.

After his spiritual retreat last week, Noynoy Aquino decided to run for the 2010 presidency race. He announced just earlier that he will be the standard bearer of the Liberal Party (LP).

“Tatakbo ako sa pagkapangulo sa darating na halalan,” announced Noynoy at the fortieth day of his mother’s death, the Saint of Democracy, Cory Aquino.

The announcement was made at the Club Filipino, Greenhills, San Juan. This is also the place where his mother took oath for her presidency on February 1986.

Mar Roxas, Kiko Pangilinan, Rodolfo Biazon and other celebrities and reform groups graced the momentous event.
