Oh Classes
How I thank God it’s a Saturday today. That has got to be a stressful week I endured last week. Aside from lots of responsibilities to attend to, being sick for a day – add to that, migraine attacks almost killed me. Oh well, here’s an update from the past week.
January 5
It was the first day of classes and nobody expected our professor to show up. Well, he has been absent for almost a month. Apparently, his father died just before the year 2009 ended. And it was really brief lecture he had. What we were a bit shocked was when he told us to answer all the fourteen problems in the end of the first chapter, he had just discussed and submit it two hours after. And yes, we were able to make it but that’s really insane.
In the afternoon, I got my first long examination result in ME 142. Though I thought it would be a mess, it turned out to be satisfying. I passed! Now, all I can hope for is for this to continue ’till the fourth examination.
January 6
So, our professor asked us to solve a problem he gave at the CE 22 first exam. I thought I fared well; but, hell, I made a lot of errors, I realized. Oh well, I just have to learn how to pay attention even to the small bits of details in solving a problem.
ME 153 lecture was a bit of a headache for me. It really is too technical and needs too much analysis, and I’m not so good at that. I don’t know why but even if I push myself to learn these things, I end up failing. But no matter how hard it will be, I hope to pass this subject this semester – this is the make or break subject. If I pass this, then I’d still be on time.
Later in the afternoon was ME 176. This course is really interesting. Though mathematical for most of the time, the fact that this subject is a preliminary course for robotics never fails to thrill me. This is entirely different from all those powerplant engineering concepts and machine design analysis we have been studying for the first half of our college life.
Later that night, me and my dorm buddies had a dinner at KFC. Afterwhich, we stopped by at Timezone for some quality time together. Videoke. Basketball Throws and Pang Pang – really had brought the kiddie in me.
January 7
Quite a busy day for extra-curricular activities. I didn’t sleep at all. I crammed the sigsheet for UP DOST SA 2009B Application – but most of them said, it was a satisfying work still. I missed out on my morning class – which was alright, since they just discussed the answers for the problems we solved last Tuesday.
And, the afternoon was spent with UP DOST SA friends – acquaintance party with members and applicants! Though I really had fun, I felt kinda burnt out that evening.
January 8
And so I was sick the whole night until around 10 am in the morning. Wasn’t able to go to class due to fever and vomiting.
I attended afternoon classes to bring my friend, Mary, her Fluid Mechanics book and to not miss the bonus points for ME 176.
Made proposals for upcoming events and activities of PSME-UPSU. Also, the Executive Committee had a meeting up until 11PM. I am kind of happy to see things working out fine now. Right after, we went to McDo to give ourselves a dinner treat. Signed up for this Midnight Meal card – hope it works later
Haha.
I guess that’s it for now.
