Lopez: Instrumental to the Success of Asian Institute of Management

You may be familiar of the Asian Institute of Management (AIM) – one of the top management institutes in the country. Not a lot of people know that its beginnings were rough especially when it comes to funding to the extent that it needs a lot of sponsors and donors for the institute to build itself as a mighty institution. One of the donors which turned the school to success is the Lopez Family.

Lopez donates 25 million to Asian Institute of Management just recently to reaffirm their support to the AIM. Probably, this would remind the general public on the good causes of the Lopez Family and the Lopez Group Foundation. Aside from the ABS-CBN, the groups is known for their worthy contributions in charity works as well as their commitment to an array of charitable institutions and foundations extending the reach of their company, as well as ABS-CBN artists especially when catastrophes like the recent Ondoy and Peping rage had brought to our countrymen.

The Lopez Group Foundation makes it sure that when they reap fruits of hard work with the help of the Filipino people supporting their programs and products, they find a way to extend their reach and give back to them. The group also focuses their work on the education sector – they actually have lots of programs in coordination with different institutions aiming for the advancement of education in the country. Just like their donation to the AIM recently, which they have been doing for the past forty-two years – Lopez made its first donation to Asian Institute of Management in 1968.

I believe with this kind of gesture, the Lopez’s had stayed true to Eugenio Lopez’ value for nationalism, likewise with what he said when he lent a hand to the AIM, “Through its support to AIM, the Foundation extends its vision to the future by making possible educational opportunities from which it is hoped will come tomorrow’s professional managers dedicated to building a more productive society.”
