Kanye West Interrupts Taylor Swift at the MTV Video Music Awards 2009
Kanye West interrupted and ruined Taylor Swift’s victory at the MTV Video Music Awards when her name was called for the Best Female Video category. She has beaten veterans Kelly Clarkson, Lady Gaga, Pink, Katy Perry, Kelly Clarkson and Beyonce.
As she accepted the trophy on the stage, she said, “Thank you so much! I always dreamed about what it would be like to maybe win one of these someday but i never actually thought that it would happen, uhh, i sing country music so thank you so much for giving me a chance to win a VMA award.”
It was a shocking Taylor that the audience saw as Kanye West went to the stage and grabbed the microphone, “Yo Taylor. I’m really happy for you. I’m gonna let you finish but Beyonce had one of the best videos of all time. One of the best videos of all time!” Her winning moment turned her to tears as the audience booed Kanye West and cheered the girl.
Later on, when Beyonce won the Video of the Year award, she gave the spotlight to Taylor Swift saying she remembered her being 17 the time Destiny’s Child won their first ever VMA.
