Helen Henson Will Represent Philippines in Miss Universe 2010; Maria Venus Raj Dethroned
Fret no more, pageant fans!
After the Bb. Pilipinas 2010 Grand Pageant Night was held, a lot of people were not satisfied with the results most especially because of the inclusion of Katherine Gatbonton in the top three crowns, and the biggest shocker of the evening was the snobbing of the front-runner Helen Nicolette Henson to be one of the three titleholders. Helen Henson was expected to get the Bb. Pilipinas-World 2010 title along with Maria Venus Raj who won the Bb. Pilipinas-Universe 2010 title and Krista Arrieta Kleiner who won the Bb. Pilipinas-International 2010 title.
Everyone were satisfied with the two other titleholders until just recently, when Maria Venus Raj was proven to have inconsistent documentations, specifically with her place of birth. This brought the Binibining Pilipinas Charities Inc. to dethrone the beauty queen. However, Diane Necio, who was supposed to be replacing her as our representative to Miss Universe 2010 was only 17 years old. That is why Helen Henson, the second runner-up and the one who many believed deserved the title of either a chance to represent Philippines in Miss World 2010 or Miss Universe 2010 will be representing the Philippines in Miss Universe 2010 this coming August.
Helen Henson is now the Binibining Pilipinas Universe 2010. She will be the Miss Philippines-Universe 2010. Let us see if this girl can end the ten year drought of the Philippines in claiming the Miss Universe crown. With a European look, will Helen Henson be Miss Universe 2010? Let us find out on August.

Venus Raj was wasted. I thought the Philippines will be having it’s third Miss Universe crown. She was a great loss in the pageantry. The question is why didn’t the BPCI disqualified Venus before the Press Presentation if she has an inconsistency in her live birth? So my conclusion is Stella don’t want the Philippines to succeed in any international pageants because she’s from Colombia. So they better retain the title to Venus Raj.

Miss, I believe that Raj isn't put to waste. For me though, Henson is a better option for MU, though she'd do really well in MW. I don't think Raj would be able to give us our third MU crown. Well, Henson is purely Filipina with a European look. Model-type, someone who could face any European candidate or even the Latinas. This girl is a strong contender and will probably be a stand out if you look over the Asian delegates. Something unique Philippines can offer.

Does it matter if Miss Philippines is black, yellow, white or brown? No! This is the 21st century; it is a "globalized" world now. The only thing that matters is for this young woman to be bold and be articulate in the most important interviews of the pageant…the ones that get the contestants to the top 10 or 12. When she lands in the semi-finals, then she needs to have all the 4 Cs…cool, calm, collected, and confident to be able to show poise in the world stage of beauty pageant. The international panel of judges have no clue what a filipina character is, much less how a filipina should look like. The judges only base their judgment on what is before them and how that contestant performs under duress. The winner of the title is the imperfect beauty who makes the judges believe that she is the only one fit to wear the crown. And it takes a lot of talent and work to achieve that title, especially if you're surrounded by 80 pretty young women. So Miss Henson, who is neither black or brown, can win the crown if she impresses and convinces the judges.

The world was always "global." It's just pushed further in economic/exploitation sense today. However, each country will always have their type of ethnic look and features. That's why they call them countries and cultures. The Philippines has different looks and mixtures, and one of them is the European/Spanish look, because we have always had Filipinos who are technically of Spanish descent (hindi mestizo), but because of our history and culture, they are just Filipinos.

bbpp it sames like barangay pagent, the judgest choosen not mentally ,but only just beauty they weregonna be looking for a better candedates who they felt to be a winner and having chances to rep,the philipipines internationally pagent..in my openion they dont suppost to make a QA PORTION .cos what happened last two years ago, when janina san meguel was won,and another one is miss gatbonton procclaim as bbp world.look and thinking what bbp does it ..we are again losser

Well, beauty is relative, right? For me, Henson is better, prettier, more classy. Henson may not be even get to the Top 5, but who are you to say that? Will Raj assure us a Top 5? Have you seen Raj without make up? Have you seen her pimples without those concealers? In contrast, have you seen Henson's photos without make up? Can you compare them, please?
If a Filipina look is what you guys are aiming for, Raj would fail, she looks Indian – Henson definitely has the Filipina features, with a European look. If you want that 22 body of Raj, Henson's got a nice body, she can work out to get those abs to make for it, if that's what many consider as sexy. If you want brains, I think Henson did the Q & A portion the best. She thinks logically, she makes a point and she's not your typical pageant girl who stated a cliche' answer. Raj lacks that. She also lacks spunk and she doesn't light up on stage. Henson, on the other hand, looks classy and someone who can really represent as Miss Philippines Universe 2010.

Well for me, Venus is the best representative we have for MU. However. However, Henson is much prettier than Raj, hindi siya kaagad mapapansin sa MU. Raj has a great catwalk skills, exotic beauty, sexy body, face like Dayana Mendoza, and a great Filipina attitude na mapapansin sa MU. And si Henson naman ay malamnay kumilos, maganda lang siya pang model at sa mga pictures, she can be miss photogenic, but Raj can be miss congeniality. And I also believe Raj is not good in speaking or communication skills, Henson is better in speaking. But Raj is the best ! Ibalik na sana sa kanya ang korona. Si Krista Kleiner dapat inalisan! 3 years pa lang siya dito at hindi siya ipinanganak! go Venus!

Incomparable. Dayana Mendoza is such a bubbly person. She also answers really well. What made Dayana our Miss Universe 2008? Is it her exotic beauty, catwalk skills, sexy body? No. Taliana easily nailed those, too. But Dayana won because of her heart, and her blasting communication skills. Well, for me, Kleiner is the best representative for MU. Henson is much more for World, but I'll give her a shot. Henson is elegant. She walks elegantly; malumanay man, ang elegant walk ay mapapansin sa MU. With a face like hers, this girl reminds me of Perla Beltran, Mexico World 2009.

Well, it's nice to read ur posts guys! Ok, ganito yun. We should not blaim either Henson or Raj or compare the two. They both have differences and whatever differences they have those were there make or break. The issue here is that, BPCI should have a firm and more professional screening committee. What's the purpose and essence of their screening committee if they cannot filter everything before the pageant starts or before accepting a contestant to join the pageant? That's there biggest lapse and in the end putting a person into a verge of jeopardy? That's really unexusable. BPCI has been in the business for so long however mistakes were, are, and will continue from generation to generation NOT UNLESS A TOTAL REVAMP WILL BE HELD!!! THAT"S MY POINT OF VIEW!!!

i like venus to represent the country of Philippines in MU. She deserved more. kakabugin nya ang india this time! pero if hindi na maibabalik ang korona sa kanya i like misa or ruais. both of them are deserving they will rock in MU. sana silang 3 ang nakakuha ng title. tsk tsk tsk. Ok guys, I understand Filipinos are VERY opinionated and kudos for that; however, let US just all embrace what is ahead for us. Sometimes, in general, there are just things that are meant and bound to happen sooner or later, positive or negative wise. In this case, win or loose, let's US all support our new Miss Philippines 2010 for Miss Universe 2010! Ok, basta manalo Philippines, ok? So chill and just cheer on, besides, either way, they ARE both Miss U quality. So sorry for Ms. Raj and best wishes to Ms. Henson in the Miss U 2010!! Let us just all unite. Cheers!!

Henson? yes, very pretty! i saw the pageant here in the US and my attention was only focused on her and kleiner.
Venus and Helen are both pretty..,venus has a beauty of a truly pinay while helen is a mix blood beauty. They both deserve the title but I wish the latest decision is fair. I suggest; before finallizing the official candidate, verify the documents for in the end, no one would think it was politically nursed.
