CARL OPLE’s 10 POWERFUL BLOGGING TIPS
01. Maximize your best blog entries – Turn that entry as billboard for other contents in your blog.
02. Social media is not just putting a “Share” button. It’s just step one. Make sharable content. Social capital. This is long-term, like a bank, about building connections and relationships. Create Facebook pages for your blog entries.
03. Be relevant. Be relevant to your audience.
04. Don’t think small. It will never become big if you think of blogging as just a hobby or anything small.
05. Learn Powerpoint because you need to submit proposals.
06. Build content partnerships.
07. Go for direct advertisers. Don’t settle for things you get through the network.
08. Don’t just rely in advertising. Choose a product.
09. Become better writers.
10. Care. For your neighbors, reply, reply, reply.

If you want to read on the highlights of iBlog6 Day 1 Morning Session, please click the link provided.
For the second day of the event, I expect a lot of familiar faces to come at the iBlog6. Of course, we will probably see more cliques and groups of bloggers tomorrow as the iBlog6 culminates. I also hope that I would still be able to get a shirt for this year, or possibly more. My goal for tomorrow is to be a bit more sociable and meet with those people whom I have met or came across with over the internet for the past year. I hope to see you all guys there tomorrow! I am really excited to meet more bloggers, and most especially the talk of Mr. Marhgil Macuha, a well-known problogger. I am currently reading his Guerilla Blogging SEO E-Book and have been learning a lot.

Year after year, the iBlog6 gets bigger and bigger – not only with the influx of bloggers (who fly to Manila, and also Manila-based ones) but also with the overwhelming knowledge and rich experience it offers to those who are new to blogging or to those who are planning to blog.

Looks like we are in for lots of big surprises this coming April 16th and 17th as the annual I Blog 6 Philippine Blogging Summit will be held at the Malcolm Hall, College of Law, UP Diliman. Registrations are NOW ongoing!
What’s good is that it is now a TWO-DAY event, and registration is still for free. If you are wondering why it has to be a two-day seminar, the organizers want the bloggers to learn more without being in such a hurry. Also, it will be a great venue for bloggers to bond and meet and greet more people – an opportunity to meet the faces behind the influential blogs, extend your social networks and meet new friends.

We also love Makati for it is the central business district of the Philippines; once or twice a year, we always do rounds in some of the best companies around to ask for sponsorship; and for some, to send out guest speakers for our events.

So, last Saturday, I was slated to go to the PAGCOR-sponsored event for the ten most influential and emerging blogs of 2009. Unfortunately, only four in my list won, but then, I know there are a lot of great blogs around the cyberworld and the winners really deserved it.
