Showtime Suspension due to Rossana Roces, Unnecessary?
Hit noontime show, ‘Showtime’ hosted by Anne Curtis, Vhong Navarro and Kuya Kim was suspended due to the alleged derogatory comments made by Rossana Roces, referring to teachers as ‘repeaters’. Here’s a video of the said incident aired last January 7.
As a preventive measure, ABS-CBN immediately pulled Rossana Roces out of the show the next day explaining the reasons why while her apologizing about her remarks.
However, MTRCB was not happy about it – that they imposed a twenty-day suspension of the show effective today, January 12. Now, Showtime is out of our screens for a while, while a replacement show entitled, “Magpasikat” which is a talent showcase by celebrities is running on its left time slot.
Happy 1st Year, Inghinyero.com!
A year go, my blog INGHINYERO.com was finally launched. Thanks to the efforts of blogging gurus Tonyo and Ederic Eder for helping me put up this website. I really owe a lot from you!
This is actually a birthday present to me, however, I felt like I didn’t treat it as a present, the way it should be.
2009 might seem to be a wreck for this blog. Primarily because its owner is a big douche for not updating it much and somehow, the blog has not been talking about him for quite a long time already. The blog focused on things beyond who INGHINYERO is and what he thinks of. Most of the time, I posted entries just because they are of interest for people whom I don’t even know – just to gain traffic and, earn money.
But hey, its a new year for INGHINYERO now. And as of the moment, I am trying to give a personal touch with all my posts since January 2010 started. Now, I hope the blog would give you bits of me while writing entries which I am interested with and recent buzzes which I feel needs my thoughts.
All I want is for you to reconsider, INGHINYERO.com. And I hope I’ll make it up to you this time, my dear readers!
Plurk Feature: Like
Looks like Facebook had influenced Plurk, as the latter launches the feature ‘Like’ in the plurk dashboards of its users!
Now, plurkers can hit the like button if they liked what other people’s status are or if they just don’t know what to say but they want to agree with what other people are saying.
Just like in Facebook, the like button appears at the bottom of the status update or in terms of plurk terms, at the bottom of the plurk.
Also, Plurk added the Liked category along with its original panels: My plurks, All plurks, Private and Responded.
Pasalubong Festival and Bonding with Friends
Yesterday, me and my dorm buddies went to Kalayaan Residence Hall for the annual Pasalubong Festival. The residents in this dormitory our freshmen. They made regional booths which represents their culture, tradition and of course delicacies! Much like a food trip, when we were freshmen, we also did the same thing!
I can still remember those days when we were just fresh from the problems passing the UPCAT had delivered us. Those times when we learned a lot of things in a short span of time. Going to Kalai again made me realize a lot of things. For one, it has been four years already… and I’m not getting any younger. I also thought of the friendships I have made since the start of college. Looking around me, I can see a bunch who have stayed with me all the time.
Right after the Pasalubong Festival, me and my friends went to Tomato Kick for a dinner. They had a drink and I drowned myself with water and iced tea.
That’s why I love them much. They understand my limits and they don’t push it too much. With them, I can just be myself. With a stressful week ahead of me, I really needed that.

Oh Classes
How I thank God it’s a Saturday today. That has got to be a stressful week I endured last week. Aside from lots of responsibilities to attend to, being sick for a day – add to that, migraine attacks almost killed me. Oh well, here’s an update from the past week.
January 5
It was the first day of classes and nobody expected our professor to show up. Well, he has been absent for almost a month. Apparently, his father died just before the year 2009 ended. And it was really brief lecture he had. What we were a bit shocked was when he told us to answer all the fourteen problems in the end of the first chapter, he had just discussed and submit it two hours after. And yes, we were able to make it but that’s really insane.
Last Days of 2009
Wow, that was one hell of a week. I kinda missed out on the new year spirit. Looks like I was not able to do a year-end post nor a new year’s resolution entry. Well, if you’re going to ask what I have been doing lately, I’ll try to fill you in.
Here are some of the happenings from December 14 up to January 2. Haha. Wow, that really is a long time.
Engineering Week
That was one hectic week for the Engineering students. Well, we had a share of fun and competitive challenges! The Melchor Hall (UP Diliman College of Engineering building) was filled with organization wars, cheering organization members and lots of elementary parlor games in one whole week.
My organization held the our event on the first day so that it won’t be that much of a hassle. I was actually one of these years Engineering Week heads in PSME-UPSU and I headed the SongWritengg Competition.
The night events were fun. I attended the Engineering Smoker to show support for good friends Jason and Jerome, who were the heads of the event. I was also able to attend the Maskipaps and that friggin’ fall from one of the UP Cursor models was frightening to see! Also, I attended Indakan. What a night! It was really surprising. It would have been UP KEM’s 10th year – and they deserved it. F*ck! What happened was really dismaying.
On the last day, me and my orgmates met at our tambayan for the org booster. We pumped air to our balloons and raise them high – with the cheer “Go Pisme!” ala “Go Uste!” – in Engineering, each organization has a battlecry and a cheer.
