In finding the one for the Miss Universe crown, it has always to be a complete package of brains, wit, class, and elegance. Predictions can be made based on each contestants’ buzz and appeal and probably with the most bearing is their performance in the preliminaries.

So, now, in my final analysis of this year’s competition, I will divide them by continents after which I’ll be listing down my final fifteen finalists. I judged their preliminaries performance, their interviews and I added a bit of “buzz power” which will be my basis in choosing my top fifteen.

This year’s competition’s tough. It would probably top last year’s head-to-head in the top tilt betwen lovely Colombia and the winner Dayana Mendoza from Venezuela.

Dominican Republic’s bet is leading the pack but will she disappoint yet another? Mexico have been sending the best candidates in three year’s time. Is 2009 their year? Australian bet can easily repeat Jennifer Hawkins’ stint while the rest are still struggling to stand out. Who will win this year? Here’s my picks for Week 1.

I have pretty high hopes with August as it seems this month will be very productive for me – I hope so.

June and July have been really terrible. I couldn’t get myself to study. My world revolved to attending meetings, organizing activities for freshies, publicizing for these events, meetings yet again (with another organization), dorm scramblings, dorm publication, and a lot more. Pretty weird, I haven’t forgotten I’m here to study. Period.

That drives me nuts each time I do organizational work and other extra-curriculars. I know I should be exerting more effort in my academics than these things and I can not blame anyone if I take examinations and flunk it. As of now, out of four exams (ES 15, MetE 143, ME 164, ME 153 and ME 142 1st and 2nd Long), I am sure that I’ll flunk around half of these exams – fortunately, I passed ES 15 1st long. That somehow boosted my ego, even just a bit.

Not only that, I had gone way too much on expenses. Add to that, my wallet got stolen last week. Got it back, 2.5k less. I’m so irresponsible.

But I gotta change that.

And so, I am challenging myself that for August, I will start anew. I have to be prepared for all the exams, three days before. I have to cut down my expenses to just P1.5k a week. And I gotta do away with unlimited texting – due to focus and expenses, too.

Right. I know it would be very difficult for me, but hey, I know I can discipline myself and I can do this. Now, you guys have to support me on this one, okay?

PS:
I had earned half of what’s needed to buy myself a laptop. I might have one, in less than a month! Wee.
